PALRAM replaced 5,000 sqm glass with custom made SUNTUF corrugated polycarbonate sheets following hail storms which destroyed acres of greenhouses in Italy. Italian horticulturalists Albani E Ruggieri, located in Civitavecchia on the west coast of Italy north-west of Rome, encountered severe storms. Strong winds, hail stones and flying debris destroyed the glass roofs of part of the 180,000 sqm greenhouse complex. With framework totally exposed, Albani E Ruggieri needed a fast solution and so turned to PALRAM. Using PALRAM’s innovative on-line bespoke profiling system, SUNTUF sheets were made to match the original profile and existing roof structure. This meant no additional tooling costs or installation problems for Albani E Ruggieri. PALRAM’s Technical Support Department offered installation guidelines, on-site support and accessories, all specially adapted for the project. The result is a replacement roof with resistance to wind loading and optimum light transmission, a quick and easy installation, and a satisfied customer.
